Welcome to the History in My Lifetime Blog Hop.
This blog hop is geared toward "History in My Lifetime", something that is prominent and will be in history books if not already there. If you came here first please start at Jamie's blog so you don't miss any of the fun. She will be offering the grand prize of 4 digi stamps from scrapbookstampsociety.com. Comment on each blog to be eligible.
I picked the first history book event that I remember, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. The journaling talks about how I was eleven and didn't really understand conspiracy theories and everything the adults were talking about, but I did understand that as sad as it was for us to lose our president, that two young children lost their dad.

Your layout is awesome, I love the colors you used and the great photos! I was in High School (16) and it was such a shock to me. I remembrered beig glued to the TV tha whole time and just crying and being so sad. It was one of those events that change your life forever!
ReplyDeleteBig Blog Hugs! Janet
I remember this very well----Your layout is great. Glad to be in this hop with you.

Hard to forget that day..I was in 6th grade and I remember hearing about it as we got on the bus to go home. Then I remember the shock when I found my mom crying in the living room watching the TV. I guess back then when you only had three tv channels and news was only on at 6 and 11 instead of ALL day that a 6th grader just didn't pay that much attention to current events so to find my momma crying was different.
ReplyDeleteVery nice layout!

ReplyDeleteHi, Just got around to hopping! I wasn't alive when this happened - but I remember when Reagan was shot - I was a kid & I was upset that they interrupted cartoons for it!
