Denise at LaLa's World challenged us to scrap our stash. Again this month I failed absymally. I only lasted until February 5th, when I went to Goodwill and found a candle ring made of flowers and beads. It was 55 cents and will make many embellishments. (I did use some of it already). A few days later I stopped at Michael's and got a couple sheets of paper on clearance for 19 cents each. (Not that I needed more paper, but again I used one sheet that day.) The real failure came on the 17th when we went out of town and HAD to stop at Big Lots. You see these 12 by 12 paper pads were $4.99 and there was an entire pad of the paper I'd bought a few sheets of earlier. So a couple pads came home with me. I did make 8 layouts this month, only that didn't make a dent in my stash at all. Should I try the challenge again in March, or should I just admit I'm a hopeless shopper?
Quite honestly I am very impressed! You sound very frugal and price concious this month. And that purchase at goodwill that is being very "green" and recycling! Good luck in March!
ReplyDeleteI think you should keep at it - I know I couldn't resist the Sale-a-bration specials at Stampin' Up. I think the best part is to try.
ReplyDeleteKeep trying!!!I think that just the fact that you're thinking about what you're buying helps you not to overbuy.
ReplyDeleteI agree, you should keep trying. I bet you still bought lots less then you would have if you weren't trying to scrap your stash.
ReplyDeleteKeep Trying Vicki! Don't give up! Have a GREAT Day,
