Wedding Day

I used the February 15th sketch from Stuck On U Sketches and the Lace and Fabric challenge from Unique Crafters Challenge for a layout of my cousin's wedding from 1977. Besides using lace for the lines between the papers, I used fabric thickers for the word "Day".  The doily was colored with Glimmer Mist in "Mardi Gras". B-day 61

I used the sketch from Artful Delight and the challenge to use numbers from Lasting Memories for this layout of the cake from my birthday party last week. Sixty-one, when did that happen?

This is why...

I turned the sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap for this layout of a roller coaster my husband forced me ride twice in 1972. I have become addicted to retro/nostalgic sites and have found many photos/memories to add to my "book of me." I hate roller coasters and now my kids will see why.

Shower

This is a photo from a group baby shower held in 1998. Hard to believe those kids will be 15 this year. I used the Week 3 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

New Challenge Blog

There's a new challenge blog in town and I can't wait to play. Scrap Your Story Challenges first challenge will begin on March 1st.

Here's some info from their blog:

"We will host weekly scrapbooking challenges starting each Friday.  Each week will bring you a different kind of challenge, but the rule will be the same... create a layout that is new (no back linking) following the challenge and share it with us.  You will have until the following Thursday night at 11:59pm (US central time) to complete the challenge, post it to your blog, and return to the blog and link up.  That weekend we will post our top 3 and at the end of each month we will choose one winner at random to receive a prize.  You will be entered into that drawing once for each of the challenges you enter...that's up to four chances each month!!"

There is also a giveaway to help spread the word and a design team call, so hop on over to Scrap Your Story Challenges.

So Cute

This is my favorite picture of my second daughter, taken when she was three. I used Sketches In Thyme #102 flipped to the right for the layout.

B-ball

I used the week 2 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for another basket ball layout. With four grandson's play this school I'm running out of titles.

La Famiglia

I call this an "everything but the kitchen sink" type of layout. I used pattern paper, a large die cut, lace, faux stitching, inked edges, chipboard key painted with liquid pearls, a heart charm, a heart brad, flowers, gems butterflies and thickers. I used the sketch from C'est Magnifique Kits. The photo is from the early to mid 1930s and shows my mother, aunt and unidentified family and friends.

I have also linked this layout to Pink Cricut for Link Up Tuesday.

brothers

This was a fun layout to make because the picture proves that my two oldest grandsons do love each other. Of course the picture was taken 14 years ago. I followed Challenge #49 at Use It Tuesday and used buttons as my fasteners. All the papers are from my stash as are the buttons, chipboard letters and the ink. Only the stamp is new and I was so excited to find a gear flourish to use on boy pages.

Now & Forever

Used the February week 1 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for this layout of my SIL's wedding.

For Love of the Game

I used the bonus sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap for a layout of my grandson playing basketball. He's only in the 3rd grade and looks so tiny compared to watching his cousin's high school team. But he sure loved playing.

Christmas Day at Nicki's

I used the February 1st sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap for the layout of dinner at my daughter's house. She had moved in December and couldn't find the ornaments for her tree and I forgot to take a picture of dinner until after everyone had eaten. The papers were from my stash and the flowers from a garland purchased on clearance and taken apart. Letters are thickers.

Balloon Card

The Die Cut Challenge at Stuck On U Sketches is Balloons. My grandson is turning 6 so I made him a balloon card.  I used my cricut to cut the balloons. I didn't add an extra sentiment since the embossing says Happy Birthday. The numbers on the balloons are thickers.

Love & Joy

The sketch is from The Scraproom Blog and the challenge (use a heart and the word love) is from Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge. The butterflies are a cupcake wrapper. The heart paper is from Target's $1 section. Love that it isn't red.
