There's a new challenge blog called Chalk N Stock. If you love chalk be sure to check it out. The rule will be simple ...Use CHALK on/with your project in some way, ANY image & ANY chalk.
I used sketch #203 from Creative Scrappers for this layout of the sign at the local drug store, reading -196 degrees. Paper from DCWV, white cardstock from Big Lots, flowers, vine, twine, bling and letters from my stash.
I used Sketch #39 from Frosted Designs for this layout of my daughter at about two years old.
I am also entering this is the Scrap It Girl April challenge to use any Creative Memories product, not hard to do since I use my favorite CM journaling pens on nearly every layout I make.
Papers from DCWV
Flowers from Prima
Gems from Imaginese
Title from American Crafts (Thickers)
Journaling pen from Creative Memories
I used the April 13th sketch from Stuck On U Sketches for this layout of my grandmother and all of her grandchildren (at the time) in 1960. The photo was already cut in a circle so I matted it three times and surrounded the photo with liquid pearls in silver. The flower on the lower left is printed on the paper - I did add the bling in the center. Cut the center from the doily and sprayed with blue glimmer mist. Butterflies made with Martha Stewart punch. Title is made with thickers.
I used the April 15th sketch from Stuck?! for this layout of my daughter from 1975.
Base cardstock from my stash
Torn paper from Core'dinations
Blue cardstock stripes from Creative Memories
Flowers from prima and DCWV
Gems, leaves, ribbon and patterned paper from my stash.
I used sketch #74 from Sketches in Thyme and the challenge from Kraft It Up to use kraft as base plus another three items (I used for photo mats, corners and both sizes of butterflies.) Photos are from last weekend's trip to the zoo.
I have a hard time with embellishments on boy pages, and with six grandsons that a bad problem to have. So I copied the sketch from Boys Rule for this layout of two grandsons watching the eagles at the zoo.
My grandson made a painting and then cleaned up. He called me into the bathroom as he let the water out of the sink after washing the brushes to see the pretty "mess".
Another layout for my grandson's album of his trip to North and South Carolina over Thanksgiving 2011. As I was making this layout the lyrics from Lee Ann Womack's song "I Hope You Dance" kept running through my head.

Sketches In Thyme is looking for new members to join
their design team. Here is the DT call sketch and my take on it.
I used cardstock from my stash, patterned paper from DCWV Spring Fling stack, butterfly punch from Martha Stewart, liquid pearls in white opal and glimmer mist in lily pad. I am also entering this layout in Lastimg Memories "April Showers" challenge to use photos of rainy days or gorgeous blooms.
The third layout of my kids from 1981, this is of my son. All paper and the flowers are from DCWV. Title is thickers from American Crafts, twine from The Twinery, buttons from my stash.

I came across eight pictures of my children playing in August 1981. This is the first of three layouts I made with the pictures. I used the DCWV April template and the Lasting Memories challenge to use something hidden - I used hidden journaling on a tag attached to the bow. All paper used is from the DCWV Cotton Bloom stack.
This layout of my son and his son is based on the March 30th sketch from Boys Rule. I used the Boys Rule kit from October 2011. Papers are Little Yellow Bicycle's Game On. Title is Thickers in Serenade.
I followed the March 16th sketch from Boys Rule for this layout of my grandson. Journaling says I was happy to hear the treadmill going until I found out he was skateboarding on it.
Another layout based on a movie. Too bad I have the song from the little mermaid stuck in my head. All items from my stash. I actually bought the letters when I first started scrapping in early 2009 and put them in a safe place. Just recently found my safe place.
Okay. Here goes my first post in what I hope is one post a day for the month of April. One of the challenges for April at the yahoo group Scrappin-n-Chattin is to create a layout inspired by a movie (title, embellies or photo). What better inspiration for a layout of a trip to an aquarium than Jaws. I still remember the first time I saw that movie on the big screen.
Cardstock - recollections
