Fifth birthday party

I saw a similar layout on pinterest and saved it. Then when the challenge this week at Lasting Memories was "Celebration" I knew now was the time to try. This is a layout of my grandson's fifth birthday party. Included in the photos are the birthday boy, his dad, his cousins and his best friend.

The challenge at ScrapFit - workout #62 - is to use XOXO on a layout. Since I love bling I was excited to find the XOXO gems in my stash. The picture is my daughters in 1978.

Zach

My grandson Zach said he didn't know he could make his own orange juice, so I handed him some oranges and a cup. I used the sketch from Boys Rule. Solid papers are from Around the Block (good morning and pretty flowers); patterned paper is Cherry Arte's morocco-mirror ball; photo mats from DCWV - The Old World stack; Blue cardstock from DCWV in robin. Buttons, twine and stickers from my stash.

My project for today is a layout from my family's trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan in 2010. I love doing mosaics for scenery photos.

I used kraftpaper as background, chipboard trees, patterned paper from my stash, cardstock from recollections, title is thickers by American Craft, small letters from Authenique.

The challenge at Kraft It Up this month is Love, the color pink and of course kraft paper.  This is my daughter in 1975.

Parade

The challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge blog is to use the above sketch and follow the theme of scouting. The photos are of my daughters (one a girl scout, the other a brownie) marching in a parade.

The challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous is the letter G. I used girls, gems and glimmer mist.

What a view

This layout is for The ScrapRoom Blog's February Freaky Fast challenge. The challenge consists of cardstock, and 9 pieces of paper cut 3x3. Add photos, title, journaling and embellish. I made a layout of my grandson on vacation in 2011.

Shades

I used the sketch from Artful Delight to make a layout of my grandson sporting some cool sunglasses.

Today's layout is of my grandson's visit to an aquarium in SC. It is based on sketch #195 from Creative Scrappers.

Ocean

This layout is for two challenges. I used the sketch above from Blog Quick Quotes. I also journaled about the challenge word at Bird is the Word, which is Remember. This is the first time my grandson ever saw the ocean.

New Baby

Here is the February sketch from The Scraproom Blog and my take on it. Pictured are my niece, her son and his son - the newest of my mother-in-law's 138 descendants.

Cutie

Above is the February Sketch from Authentique Paper, makers of some of the prettiest papers. I love the yellow and grey color combo. I made a layout of my grandson as a baby. He's almost 14 now, but still cute.

Sketch #193 at Creative Scrappers just called for a sweet baby picture. Baby Emma is my niece's granddaughter.

Prom

The challenge at A2Z Scraplets is to use the sketch created by Liz Weber.  I made a layout of my niece's daughter and her prom date.

Purple Pumpkin entry

This layout is for the sketch at Purple Pumpkin. Another picture of my niece's little one - at 17 days old.

Voom

This layout is for the first sketch challenge at Boys Rule.  The picture is of my grandson playing a driving game at his 5th birthday party. I so love that little kids don't even care that there was no money in the machine - he was playing the demo.

Best Gift

Lets Get Sketchy is a brand new sketch site. There is currently a design team call going on over there (until February 10th) and this is the sketch to apply and my take on it.

This is my niece's baby boy who was born on December 12 at one day old.

Band-o-rama

I followed sketch #68 from Sketches In Thyme to make another layout of my grandson. Since he is a teenage boy I fought the urge to put a huge white flower in the empty brown space. The real trick was getting 12 inches of ribbon to cover 24 inches of space.

Being Silly

The challenge this week at Lasting Memories is to "Trash Your Layouts".  I used corrugated cardboard cut from a box flap for mats under the title and journaling. The photo mats are scraps of cardstock and the title is from an already opened pack of thickers (leftovers). The layout is of my grandson and his girlfriend being silly in the photo booth. He doesn't know I took a picture of the photo strip he left sitting on his desk. : )

Marching Band

I used the sketch from The Paper Variety to make this layout of my grandson performing.
