Just Because

It seems every layout I make is for a challenge or a design team. This layout I made "just because". It is of two grandsons on the first day of school this year. I used the August kit from Artful Delight, plus ribbon purchased at Ben Franklin and a die cut (scissors) from my stash.

Artful Delight - Day 3

The challenge for day 3 of Artful Delight's Birthday Bash Blog Hop is to use the colors kraft, pink and white. I choose to make a layout of my oldest daughter with a picture taken in 1974. (This is the same daughter pictured in the layout made for the day 1 challenge.)

Cardstock - from my stash
Butterflies - EK Success punch
Title and flourish - K&Co.
Flowers - from lei purchased at $ store.
Gems - from stash

Artful Delight Birthday challenge #1

Challenge #1 at Artful Delight's Birthday Bash blog hop is to use this sketch.

I created a layout of my daughter's visit to the Crazy Horse monument in South Dakota.

All items used except adhesive are from Artful Delight's August kit.

Frames and Flowers

The challenge this week at Lasting Memories is "Frames and Flowers".  Lasting Memories is all about layouts - my favorite thing to create.

I used the sketch from Sketches in Thyme (#56) to create this wedding layout. The background is misted in blue and purple. Painted the chipboard frames with same shade of blue and then sprayed with glimmer mist to add shine. I am also entering this in Scrapbookers Anonymous challenge to use chipboard, the more the better. Besides the frames, the letters are chipboard.

The challenge at Lasting Memories ends at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1st.  Come on over and join the fun.

Supplies used:

Cardstock - recollections
Chipboard frames - from stash
Glimmer mist in marshmellow - tattered angels
Patterned Paper - DCWV Stack 6
Flowers - Prima
Gems - Bead Designs (from Hobby Lobby)
Chipboard Letters - K & Co. Wedding Collection
Flower ribbon - (from Ben Franklin)

I Do

Challenge #51 at ScrapFit is Salt & Pepper plus one other color (all hues). I picked green at my other color in this layout of a cousin's wedding in the 1950s.

Easel Card

This is my first try at making an easel card. I used the doodlecharms cricut cartridge to cut the spider.  This card is being entered at Cher's Studio.

First Communion

This layout is based on the September sketch at Artful Delight and is made using items in the August Artful Delight kit. I used tickets as journaling spots and am also entering this in Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge to use Tickets, Stamps and Envelopes. The pictures are of me and various relatives in 1960.

Just Married

The sketch is from Stuck On U Sketches and the flowers are for the favorite embellishment challenge at The Paper Variety. The layout is of my father's cousin Alice's wedding in the mid 1950's.

Greatest

One of the challenges at The Paper Variety's celebration is to make a layout using only your favorite color. I made a layout that also follows the recipe at Purple Pumpkin for their September challenge - 1 lollipop flower, 2 doilies, 3 buttons. The picture is of my brother-in-law's great-granddaughters and their mom.

Fairy Tale Wedding page 2

This is the second page of Fairy Tale Wedding. I used the sketch from Frosted Designs and  turned it 90 degrees since my pictures were landscape.

Fairy Tale Wedding

This is the left side of a two page layout from my friend's wedding. Her colors were lemon and lime. I used the sketch from Sketchabilities.

Dalton - page 2

This layout is based on the sketch at Sassy Lil' Sketches. It's the second page for my grandson's birthday. And yes, my daughter is on two phones at once. LOL

Dalton - page 1

This layout is based on the sketch and instructions given on the Yahoo group Scrappin-n-Chattin for the Monthly Layout Challenge. It also meets the challenge of using a Birthday Theme and a banner for The Paper Variety.

Exciting News

I have some exciting news - I'm a new design team member on Lasting Memories, a simply awesome challenge blog that's all about layouts.

This week, it's all about "Simply You" ... can be your style, you personally, something you love .. just "Simply You". Super easy, super fun!!! But guess what!! We have a sponsor this week!!! My Memories is offering up a copy of their latest digital scrapbooking software!!

My "Simply You" layout is a very simple layout, paper (from DCWV Trade Winds stack) a photo of me (at least 25 years ago), gold colored title and journaling. But it's also about me because my love of family history is what lead me to scrapbooking and now I enjoy spending time doing both.

Be sure to check out all the inspiration at Lasting Memories and join the fun.
