Color Challenge
I'd forgotten how hard this time of year is working retail. I work at work (help customers, clean store), I work at home (cleaning, decorating, baking) I shop and I sleep. Finally claimed an hour for scrapping while the laundry was washing. These layouts are for the color challenge at Scrappin-n-chattin. Challenge was to use mostly brown and blue. The pictures are for my husband, 2 daughters and oldest grandson, taken at my daughter's house.

Newest Layouts
Wow - it's been nearly two weeks since I've added any layouts. This first is for the scenic challenge at Scrappin-n-chattin. You can't tell from the picture but the photos are of the Mackinac bridge taken from the fort on Mackinac Island.
This second layout is also for Scrappin-n-chattin for both the sketch challenge and the button challenge. Our town has a "Friday Night Live" on the main downtown street during the month of August. My son and grandson are part of a break dance crew.

Fair Food
The challenge at The (Paper) Trail Makers is food. So what's the fair without food? This layout is of my daughter and grandson eating at the fair. Don't worry my family also ate french fries, ice cream, a turkey leg, elephant ear, a pastry called fat balls, roasted ears of corn, lemonade and pop. Thanks goodness it's only once a year.

Spooky Book
Unibind Photobook Creator on facebook had a contest last week - several people including me won a book cover and some dinotalk paper. The winners were asked to create a spooky book by noon on Friday.
I recorded my spooky sounds and attached the dinotalk paper to the front of the album.
I covered the dinotalk with a sheet of patterned paper and put a purple square over the play button.
I used pictures I had on hand from my grandsons' trip to the pumpkin patch last year. I can add more pages after halloween when I get this year's pictures.
My finished book.

Look to the future
This layout follows the sketch at Sketches In Thyme. It also works for the hidden journaling challenge at Scrappin-n-chattin. The photos are of my parents in 1950, the journaling tells how my grandson made the heart punches in 2010.

Ontario
This layout of my grandson, Ontario, is for the sketch challenge at Crafts by Rowena. Pictures are from the fair in August. The paper is kaisercraft which I won from Liz in Australia.
A Sign
This layout is for this week's challenge at Sketchy Thursdays. The journaling talks about how my husband Leonard and I went to Grand Rapids, MI many times, often getting off at the Leonard exit. But it wasn't until this year that my daughter went to the intersection of Leonard and Wilson and took at picture. My youngest sister-in-law claimed it was "a sign" from her big brother.

Arrr!
My second layout for today was based on the sketch at Sketches In Thyme. This is my son wearing a pirate hat at Pirates Cove for his nephew's birthday party.
Nicki
This is my entry for Sketchy Thursdays based on the September 30th sketch. The baby is my oldest daughter at about 5 months. Boy did I get in trouble with my mom for sending her pictures of a barefoot baby.

Bestest Cousins
The challenge this week at The Paper Variety is the theme the sky's the limit. Among the things on the list to use were the sun and dragonflies. The journaling tells how my grandsons will fight and say "You're not my friend anymore." But at the end of the day they will say to each other "You're my bestest cousin."

The Tradition Continues
When I saw the sketch for Artfuldelight's Sketch Challenge #1 I knew it would be perfect for these photos. I had recently made a layout of my son, Mark, at age 4, standing in front of a tank. I need to dig out the second photo of Mark with the same tank at age 14. Recently Mark and his family were driving thru a small town and came upon a tank. He convinced his wife that he needed to stop and get photos of himself and his sons in front of the tank. While it isn't the same tank, it is a family tradition.
Majestic
The challenge this week at Papercraft Star is to make a layout or card based on one of the seven natural wonders of the world: Grand Canyon, the Great Barrier Reef, The Harbor at Rio de Janeiro, Mt. Everest, Northern Lights, Paricutin Volcano, Victoria Falls. I took my inspiration from Victoria Falls and did a layout of Niagara Falls.

Play Ball
I don't usually do two page layouts, but when I saw the current challenge at Sketchy Thursdays coupled with the amount of photos I have from the ball game everything just came together. Unfortunately the person taking the photos (my oldest daughter) isn't in any of the pictures. Isn't that how is usually goes?
The Lion King
The challenge this week at The Paper Variety was ABC with A being autumn colors; B being borders (punched or sticker) and C being cinema (use a movie title in the title or journaling.) Since it's close to halloween I thought a layout of Nicholas as Simba from The Lion King would work for the challenge.

Papercraft Star 500 followers giveaway
Papercraft Star is having a giveaway for reaching 500 followers. Here is their post.
"We are so thrilled here with the warm response we've received from all of our followers and we really appreciate that so many of you are going out of your way to tell other crafters about us too! The more, the more merrier is definitely the case here at Papercraft Star!
In fact, we are so excited that we know we told you that we were going to wait until we reached 500 followers to have another $25.00 Papertrey Ink or My Favorite Things (winner's choice) gift certificate drawing, but we're so close to that number now, we decided to celebrate early! This is perhaps the one time that it doesn't matter if you count your chickens before they hatch! "

This is Charlie looking serious. The layout is based on sketch #46 at Creative Genealogy Scrapbooking.

Hi !
This layout is based on the sketch at Sketches in Thyme #14.
While Dalton isn't waving in the pictures, Kaden and Zach were having a great time. They soon found out just how long a parade can be. Sore arms.
Royal Ride
This sketch is from Creative Genealogy Scrapbooking, sketch #45
Kaden, as prince, rode in the parade. His cousins Zach and Dalton were able to ride on the float.
Parade
This layout is based on this week's sketch at Sketchy Thursday.
Kaden's parents were excited when he was chosen prince for his school, even when reminded they would have to build a float.

Kaden
This layout is based on the Sketchy Thursday October GDT Challenge.
For the National Cherry Festival, each elementary school picks a first grader as prince and princess. This year my grandson Kaden was chosen for his school.
