The Game

The challenge at Scrap It Girl is to use angels or arrows. While I'm sure their moms think these boys are angels, I used an arrow to embellish the layout of the team. While the team picture includes #42, it's not the same boy who started the season (he is in the smaller picture). Three of the boys are foreign exchange students and at least two had never played basketball before. I had to write the hidden journaling three times as I did it upset down once and misspelled Czech Republic once. Since the team only won once but had a great time playing it must have been for the love of the game.

Cuddle

I used sketch #15 from Let's Capture Our Memories. I had a different photo in mind when I started put suddenly the colors took over and I couldn't use my mainly blue picture. The photo I did use is from the early 1980s of my daughter cuddling while I embroidered a quilt top.

Friends

I'm usually the one behind the camera, but when I saw what was sitting on the bench I had my grandson take my picture with our new friend and then took a picture of him too. I used the week 3 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

April Showers Bring May Flowers Blog Hop

Welcome to the "April Showers Bring May Flowers" Blog Hop!

We're so happy you could join us today!

You should have arrived from Robin.  If you happened by my blog or are joining me from your dashboard, head over to Miranda's blog to start at the beginning.  We don't want you to miss any of the fun!

We will be showcasing Spring like projects or projects with a rain or flower theme! In addition to seeing a lot of awesome creations, there is some blog candy available too.  Miranda will be giving away a gift card from either Michael's or JoAnn's (winner's choice).  To be eligible for the blog candy, you are required to visit each stop in the hop and leave a comment!  The winner will be announced Wednesday, Apirl 24th on Miranda's blog!

I was hoping to make a layout of the spring flowers in my yard, but made this card as a back-up. Butterflies, flowers and green are my idea of spring.

Now you can hop on over to Sarah. Should you get lost along the way, here is the entire line up:

Kith & Kin

The colors for the challenge at Black with Two are black, gray and yellow, one of my favorite combinations. Sorry the picture is so light, but anything that appears white is actually my favorite pale yellow. What appears blue in the picture is actually gray. The photo is of my cousin and me - when I was 14.

Now for my secrets. The black butterflies on the right are because I'm left handed and got some of the buttercup liquid pearls from the yellow butterfly trail on the side of my hand and then left little spots on the right side of the paper, so those cover the spots. The title is kith and kin because I didn't have enough of the letter S to spell cousins.

Hills

The challenge at Frosted Designs is travel as is the challenge at The Paper Girls. Pictures are of the hills in the background and the trees on the side of the road taken from a moving car, south of Louisville, KY.  Sorry the picture is a little crocked.

In the car

I used the sketch from Let's Capture Our Memories and the challenge from The Paper Girls Challenge Blog (Travel) for a layout of my grandson in the back seat of the car on the way home from Kentucky. He thought my travel pillow was the dumbest thing, until he used it. He brought along his moose which he has had since he was two. The only time the moose makes an appearance is to go on vacation with us. Miracle he can still find it. In the third picture he had on my glasses and could only see out of the bottom part of the bifocals.
