The challenge this week at Lasting Memories is "Double Take." Use two of the same or similar pictures. I had two pictures of the huge maple tree in the back yard, one taken in summer and the other in fall. I struggled for a time with what colors to use. Finally decided that I was really making two 11x5.5 layouts, making the summer half in green and white, the fall half in red and tan. Tied the two halves together with yellow butterflies with liquid pearls in green (summer) and pink (fall).

With Grandma
After doing layouts of boys, a church and a pizza lunch the last few days it felt good to do a girly layout. So I had to use everything, lace, bling, doily, flowers, brads and butterflies. I used the sketch from Stuck On U Sketches for this layout of my daughters and my mother-in-law. Pulled the colors from my daughters' outfits - photo is from 1981.
My Guys
Another layout from Zach's birthday party in 2009. (Better late than never, right.) I used the sketch from Mothers of Boys. Pictured are my son, his oldest son, and my oldest grandson. Actually this is only some of my guys - have four more grandsons.

Fishing
Third post for today. This layout is based on the sketch from ScrapFriends. Paper is Little Yellow Bicycle. The flowers from a thrift store, title is foam letters from the dollar store, tape and fish net embellie from Michaels. While the photo looks like it was taken in the middle of the day, it was actually after 10 p.m. Taken in Anchorage, Alaska in June.
Capture the good times
The challenge at Once Upon a Sketch is to use the quote below and the sketch. I was out of state on my grandson's birthday, so the only photo I have is one from facebook. But I'm happy to have it, since it shows his smile and the number 9 card.
Normally when I see a sketch like this I think girly with lots of flowers and pink, but I have grandsons. So I looked through my stash and found the awesome red/white/black/gray die cut and the layout just fell into place from there. Used my new Tim Holtz die for the gears and thickers in different colors and fonts for the title. Journaling is under the picture.
Lunch
There are always those things I want to remember but feel funny about scrapping, so I loved the challenge from Lasting Memories this week. The four items I picked out of the hat were brads, ribbon, food and the colors red, orange, yellow or green. I used all the colors although the red title looks orange. Then I added a fifth - the flourish. My journaling (cut off on the bottom of the layout) says I had to have my favorite food - pizza - while in Anchorage.

All of Us
The challenge at The Studio Challenges is family. What family means, who is my family. I used a picture from my daughter's wedding in 1997. The photo includes my mother, myself, my husband, all three of my children, oldest grandson and son-in-law - the only photo of all of us together. My journaling is on the black tag on the lower right side under the doilies.
