Add Some Dimension

It's a brand new week which means a brand new challenge at Lasting Memories, the challenge blog that is all about layouts. The challenge this week is to add dimension.

I took an album of the wedding layouts from this summer to work, since I was the only co-worker to attend all three weddings. My co-worker Scott teased that I never made a scrapbook about him. He knows I don't have many pictures of him, but forgot that his wife and I are facebook friends so I have access to her photos. It's fun to add dimension, even if it's hard to get the layout into the page protector. I added the ruffled ribbon, the two layer butterflies, three layer flower and bling on the chipboard title.

Cardstock from Target
I-rock gems from Imaginise
flowers from prima
butterfly punch from Martha Stewart
patterned paper from DCWV
ribbon from Making Memories
Chipboard letters from K&Co.

This layout is also for the "loving couple" challenge at Scrappin-n-chattin.

Now head over to Lasting Memories to see what my design team sisters have created. I hope you will join us and play along.

Endless Love

Each month the yahoo group, Scrappin-N-Chattin, issues five challenges. One of the challenges this month is to use the colors green, purple, orange and black. These might be Halloween colors, but were also the colors of the bouquet at a wedding my daughter attended in September. The bride carried orange sunflowers with black centers, plus green leaves, tied with purple ribbon.

Artful Delight - At the Beach

The challenge at Artful Delight is to use this sketch:

At first I was going to use only one photo, but when I saw the placement of the kids in the photos I realized the three pictures would work together.

The picture doesn't show it, but there are wave patterns on the cardstock. I used a foam sun and a clear sticker for the title "At the Beach". I've also enter at The Paper Variety, where this week's challenge is nautical - anything ocean, beach, fish, pirates, lighthouses, seashells.

Lasting Memories # 58

The challenge this week at Lasting Memories is Recipe Time with a Little Twist. We are challenged to use:

1 photo
2 embellishments (I used buttons and butterflies)
3 colors (I used brown, red and green)

and to use song lyrics.

After picking this picture I typed the words "lyrics boxes" into google and found a song by Charlie Winston called "Boxes". The lyrics I used are "Who am I supposed to be? With these empty building blocks I can be a thousand me's." These reason I loved this picture of my grandson is because when his dad was the same age he also played in the boxes that my office supplies came in. My son doesn't remember so I had to journal his story on this layout. Who needs toys when you have an imagination?

Supplies used:

Cardstock from my stash
Patterned Paper from DCWV
Butterfly punch from EK Success
Buttons from my stash

You have until 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 8th to join us. Make sure to visit Lasting Memories and check what the other design team members have created for you.
