Decor

Sometimes a mistake is a good thing. Yesterday I posted a layout I made from this sketch (week 4 from Let's Get Sketchy), but didn't use the required colors - light green, dark green, red and white. That layout should be the last from the Florida trip taken by my son, my daughter and their families. Wanted that album finished before I left on vacation today since I'm hoping to take a zillion pictures and start working on those memories in April. Above is a layout of the last two pictures from my Christmas decor for 2012, another album I wanted finished. The ribbon was already cut and glued, sitting on the craft mat, not used in a previous project. So by not paying attention I ended up finishing two albums and using the ribbon.

Florida

This layout is based on the week 4 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. Unfortunately I didn't use the colors for the challenge, so I'll be making another layout for that. I'm linking this to Pink Circut's Link Up Tuesday.

titans

I totally love the March sketch from The Sample Kit Club. So many possibilities. I did this layout with six photos of my grandson playing basketball. Will be keeping the sketch for future use (can enter multiple times up to April 19th) - maybe using the three bigger spaces for photos and embellies in the four small spaces.

King of Cute

Used sketch #28 from Sketch - N - Scrap and the technique challenge (emboss) from Scrap Your Story for this layout of my grandson at 1 year old.  Got the Tim Holtz playing card embossing folders on clearance recently and couldn't wait to find a reason to use one.

Ticket to Ride

I often have trouble with embellishments on boy layouts - can't use flowers, lace and butterflies. So I was happy to see this week's challenge at Lasting Memories is Clean and Simple. Used kraft for both the base and the banner and a piece of sequin waste under the photos/banner. The title is thickers - tried to mimic the movement of the horse.

Alaska

The challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy challenge is scrap about something on your bucket list or something you have done from the list. I used the sketch from Scrap Your Story for this layout from my trip to Alaska last June.  Such a beautiful place.

Uncle

I know I just did a layout titled uncle, but when I found this die cut it was perfect for the Kraft It Up challenge from Scrap Our Stash. I also used metal arrow embellies on the corners of the photo.

Home Game

As soon as I say the circle and the multiple photo spots in this sketch from Sketches in Thyme I knew I would be making another basketball layout.

Favorites

I used the week 2 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for a layout from my birthday party last month. Pizza is my favorite food. And the photo of me with my kids is my favorite picture from that day. I don't think there is a photo of all four of us together in at least 25 years. That's what happens when mom is the one taking the pictures.

I also followed the challenge at Connie Can Crop - birthday plus buttons and bling.  I took white buttons that looked kind of plain and added red gems.

Uncle Pep

This is such a fun sketch from Purple Pumpkins. I also followed  the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge Up, Up and Away to use balloons, kites, planes, clouds, birds, butterflies, etc. So not only did I use butterflies (with black stickles for shine) I added a few clouds for good measure.

Hello 6

Used the sketch from Scrappin' n' Happy for this layout of my youngest grandson turning six. I love being able to recycle items as embellies and used an old tissue box (the kind that has lotion in the tissues) for the silver stars.

at play

I used the first sketch from 2 Broke Girls for this layout. At the end of kindergarten my grandson received a large jar of buttons that the class had used for counting. He gave them to me and enjoys when I use some on layouts of him.

Sand and Sun

Another layout from my kids/grandkids trip to Florida. I used the last (for now) sketch from Creative Scrappers. I sure hope it's only a break and not the true end of one of my favorite challenge blogs.

The People

I used the week 3 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for this layout of my grandson and his heritage project for school. I used the colors of the medicine wheel for the colors of the layout and embellies.

How Much?

My newest addiction is getting photos from retro sites on facebook. When I found the ad for buggies from 1950 I knew I would be scrapping it along with a photo of me in a buggy. I used the sketch from Scrap Our Stash along with the mixed alpha challenge. The red thickers are freedom foam stickers while the blue are lullaby chipboard stickers. The patterned paper is from my scraps binder and the flowers are from an old headband purchased on clearance over a year ago.  Journaling tells how a $78 purchase in 1950 would be $682 today.

Pretty Girl

I used the sketch from Sketches with a Twist for a layout of my daughter when she was in 3rd grade. The twist was to use washi tape. I am also linking this to Pink Cricut's Link Up Tuesday and Craftin Desert Diva's Link Up Party.

On the beach

Used sketch 335 from Scrapbook Challenges for another layout of my son and family's trip to Florida.

He Likes It

I used the week 1 sketch and color challenge of gold, red, white and green from Let's Get Sketchy. The circle ornaments are made from white cardstock and gold sequin waste. With luck I will be done scrapping Christmas before Easter.

Whatcha lookin at?

I used the February sketch from Boys Rule for this layout of my grandsons on vacation in Florida. I do wonder what they were looking at.

Memories

I found these pictures on facebook and had to make a layout. I followed the challenge at Lasting Memories to use a tag. The tag holds the journaling explaining that my mom had this style stroller/walker in blue (it also came in red) and that my dad told me stories of how I would corner the dog while in the walker. Guess I wasn't the perfect child.

Small boys Big ocean

I used the sketch from Sketchabilities for this multi-photo of my youngest grandsons at the ocean.

Spring Blog Hop

Welcome to the Spring is Hopping Blog Hop on March 9 to 10 from 9 am to 11 pm CST.  Thank you for joining us to help us celebrate Spring and Easter.

I am the third stop. You should have come from Shalana's blog. If not, please start at Lisa's blog as she has a gift for everyone.

Now for my project, I made a layout of bunnies playing basketball.

When the hostess of a challenge I take part in gave the hints that March would be bunnies and basketball I asked if it would be bunnies playing basketball or kids bouncing bunnies. She replied that if anyone could make a layout as I suggested without any bunnies being hurt, she would give five extra entries. Silly woman. I not only work in a toy store, I own over 400 Kelly dolls (Barbie's little sister) and my toys have toys of their own (basketball, hoop and pink bunnies).

I used the sketch from Artful Delight

Thanks for stopping by.  Please come back soon for another great project. Now hop on to Shaunta's blog to see the awesome project she has for you.

I used the sketch from the Sampler Kit Club and the theme challenge of animals from Scrap Your Story for this layout from my son, daughter and their families' trip to Florida.

Yeah, I'm cute.

The challenge at both The Pink Elephant and Frosted Designs is to use chevrons. The  challenge at Lasting Memories is 2's and 3's. I used 2 keys, 2 pieces of chevron patterned paper, 2 pieces of rick-rack, 2 lines of journaling, 3 photos, 3 buttons and 3 words in the title. This is my oldest grandson (now 18) when he was two.

I love this face

When I found this photo while cleaning the craft room the other day I knew I had to scrap it next. I followed  the challenge from Scrap Your Story (one photo), used the sketch from Stuck On U Sketches and followed the challenge at It's About the Boys to use items at least a year old. Well I have a stack of DCWV stacks thats about three feet tall, so I grabbed an older stack (Summer Dreams), some cardstock scraps and two old buttons. The photo was taken at Dalton's first birthday party - and he'll be 13 this year.
