Love

I turned and flipped the sketch from The Sample Kit Club for another layout of my niece's wedding. I used soft colors for the background and embellishments so the photo would stand out.

Beauties

I love the opportunity to make girly layouts. Used the January sketch from C'est Magnifique for this layout of my niece, sister-in-law and aunt.

Up North

This is my first time taking part in the challenge at The Paper Mixing Bowl. I used the sketch, the 3 colors, the utensils of metallic (brads in lower left) and bling (black gems on upper right of top picture) and hidden journaling behind the top picture. The photos were taken when I was four years old - over fifty-five years ago.

Helping

I used the sketch from Stuck On U Sketches and the challenge to use borders from Lasting Memories for this layout of my son and grandson mowing the lawn. These pictures are extra special because I have pictures of my son following his dad mowing over 20 years earlier.

Lights and cat

The sketch is from Let's Get Sketchy week 3. Journaling explains that in the center picture (without the lights on) there's a cat climbing the tree. Happened the day after my daughter commented that the cats were being so good about leaving the tree alone. So I'm trying to get a picture with my phone with one hand, while spraying the cat with water with the other. He did only climb it the one time.

Devoted

I used the color inspiration from ScrapFit workout #84 to create a layout for this picture of my husband's uncle and aunt.  I also used Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge to use music, and used paper with notes to mat the picture.

Here's a close up of the music paper. One of my favorite memories of Uncle Jim was of him singing bass in church.

Gingerbread Decor

I used the January 1st sketch from Stuck for this layout of my kitchen decorations this past Christmas. I usually only journal the date and place, but had a lot to say about the curtains and wind chimes, so hid a journaling card under the top gingerbread man. Note to self - do not put a long title vertically on the very edge of layout and expect to get a perfectly cropped photo.

After the Concert

Was able to get a few pictures of my son and grandsons after Kaden's performance, so I used the sketch at Sketches In Thyme for a layout.

Gift

This layout of Charlie and his first laptop is based on the week 1 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. Love the excited look on his face.

Under the Tree

Another Creative Scrappers inspired layout features the gifts under our tree.Ts layout was also inspired by the Lasting Memories theme "Christmas 2012".

Thumbs Up

Finally got my mojo back and started on the Christmas layouts. My son was pleased to receive a "thumbs up" statue from his sister and I used sketch #241 from Creative Scrappers as my inspiration for this layout.

Love

I used the sketch/color/handmade banner challenge from Sketch With Color and the theme Something Old, Something New challenge from Lasting Memories for this layout of my niece and her newest grandson. The papers and thickers are old, the green flowers and of course the baby are new.

1st Job

My oldest grandson got his first job in October, but hates to have his picture taken. I used the sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap to make a layout of a couple pictures I was able to get, plus a picture of the first endcap he set by himself.

Shoes

I used the sketch from The ScrapRoom Blog for another layout from my niece's wedding. Sorry the picture is crooked.

Idle No More

On 22 Dec 2012 two of my children plus nieces and cousins took part in a flash mob/round dance in support of the First Nations people of Canada. I used the sketch from Boys Rule for the top layout. The second layout is for the four photo challenge on the yahoo group Scrappin-n-Chattin.

A Wish Come True

ScrapFIT Workout #83 challenge, Wish Upon a Star, is to use stars. The challenge at Scrap It Girl is to use bling, glitter, shine and sparkles. I used glimmer mist in marshmellow, liquid pearls in silver pearl, shiny silver flowers and red gems and stars punched from silver paper for a layout of my niece and her new husband.
The challenge at Red Carpet Studio is anything goes. By sure to check out these challenge sites and take part in the fun.

Season 2012

I used the sketch from Artful Delight for the layout of Laura and I. It was the last day we worked together After more than three years as she got a job in her chosen profession and was leaving retail. One of the guys in the background is my grandson - it was his first job - and also the last day we worked together as it was a seasonal job for him.
