Family

Third post for today - this layout is for the flowers challenge at Lasting Memories. The photo is of my great-grandparents and their 13 children. This is going to be the first page for the album that will contain all the layouts I've been doing of each of these children's weddings, anniversaries and families.

Definition of Hero

This week's challenge at Frosted Designs is to make a card, layout or project with an armed forces/patriotic theme.  This is the second half of a double page layout made with the pictures I found yesterday of my uncle during WWII.  The title came about when I looked up HERO in the thesaurus and it said noble courage.

Noble Courage

This layout is for the challenge to use stars at The Paper Variety - need to link by noon. Nothing like uploading at the last minute.  The photos are of my mom's brother John, taken during WWII. I found the photos yesterday while cleaning out totes of "stuff to keep" in the basement.

One Love

The challenge at Design Dollies is to follow the sketch below. My layout is of my dad's uncle Felix and aunt Laura on their wedding day in 1937.

Sisters

The challenge at Once Upon A Sketch is to use this sketch and to have typewritten journaling.

I made a layout with a picture of my mother-in-law and her sister. I believe the picture to have been taken in the mide 1950s.

Artful Delight #8

This layout is based on sketch #8 from Artful Delight. I had to go out for a few minutes and left my two year old (fully clothed) grandson with his 15 year old cousin. When I got home the older grandson was playing a game on his laptop, the baby had no pants, shoes or socks on, and the featherduster was in a million pieces. The older one said the baby can't be in trouble, he was sitting here the entire time and didn't make a sound.

Master Yoda

This layout covers two challenges, the sketch above from Artful Delight #6, and movie inspiration from The Paper Variety.  My grandson was showing me his Master Yoda moves from Star Wars.

Artful Delight #4

This is actually a Christmas layout. My crabby grandson Zachary was showing some attitude late in the day. This is based on the sketch at Artful Delight #4.

Mom - Lasting Memories

The challege at Lasting Memories is a photo inspiration.  I took the colors and the idea of flowers and made a layout of my mother from 1940.

First Doll

When I saw this doll at a thrift store I knew I needed to get pictures as this was the first doll my oldest daughter had back in the mid-1970s. I asked my daughter what happened to her doll and found out she still has it, but it's not in as good a condition as the one in the pictures.

This layout is for two challenges - the sketch from Frosted Designs and the colors from the photo inspiration at Papercraft Star to create a project that includes: At least one die cut or stamped image, a metal element or button and two different patterned papers. My die cut is the circle (cricut -george and basic shapes cartridge) done in chocolate brown.

Guests

This is the May sketch, challenge ASC8 - #1, at Artful Delight.

Here is my take on the sketch. This layout is part of a series of 4 layouts (food, cake, gifts, guests) from my grandson's 4th birthday party in February.

Care Bear Parade

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge at Sketchy Thursdays.

Each year all the area elementary schools make a float for the National Cherry Festival parade based on that year's theme. My layout is of my daughter, in 1984, riding on her school's Care Bear float.

Mom

The challenge at Once Upon A Sketch for May 1st is to use this sketch AND a journaling spot.

I made a layout of my mother and I from 1952.  This is also for the "Mom" challenge for the Scrappin-n-chattin yahoo group.

Prom

Here is my layout based on the April 28th sketch at Sketchy Thursdays. The photos are of my daughters at Prom. The silver title does show up much better in real life.

Ancestor Hunter

The challenge at Lasting Memories this week is "All About You". Before I became obsessed with scrapbooking my passion was (and still is) genealogy. This picture of me is from the mid 1980s.

The Paper Variety - Polka-Dots

The challenge this week at the Paper Variety is Polka-Dots. I made a layout of my nieces at the apple orchard in the fall of 1973. It's hard to see in the picture, but the title has dots also.
